BIRDI is a SAAS platform that enables businesses to integrate and scale drones into their operations by providing an ‘end to end’ drone management system. Our enterprise customers engage our 2000 strong pilot network to capture aerial data, that the BIRDI platform processes and makes available back to the customer. As a result of growth and strategic expansion, we are hiring a UAV Operations Coordinator.

The UAV Operations Coordinator is responsible for working cohesively with the BIRDI sales team and the BIRDI pilot network.

Working with the BIRDI pilot network will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing BIRDI’s directory of drone pilots – liaising with the pilot base, understanding emerging drone applications, and vetting appropriate pilot partners.

Working with the BIRDI sales team you will be responsible for understanding different client drone capture requirements, quote effectively on these requirements, and then manage the stakeholders throughout the capture process.

This role will be pivotal to the growth of the business and will rely heavily upon an independent hard worker who has strong organisational skills and good time management. You will work closely with, and report directly to the Sales & Operations Director.

  • Engage, supervise, and appraise the development of BIRDI’s drone pilot base.

  • Ensure BIRDI compliance with the CASA regulations which govern the commercial application of drones within Australia.

  • Work in partnership with the sales team and customers to quote, plan, and execute on aerial capture projects.

  • Draft and continuously review and improve operational systems, procedures, processes and best practices to enable BIRDI to scale its operations.

  • Remote Pilot’s Licence (RePL) or a higher aviation qualification.

  • Strong understanding of aviation laws, specifically applying to RPAS primarily in Australian judiciaries but international knowledge or experience valued.

  • The ability to work independently and remotely.

  • Experience operating drones in a commercial capacity across a range of industries and applications is highly desirable.

  • Experience with post-capture data processing, parameters, and preferred filetype outputs is highly desirable.
