BIRDI FLIGHT TEST. 

STEP 1 - LOGIN.

Please login to the DJI GO app using BIRDI credentials provided below. This allows us to access your flight log.

1. When in the DJI GO app, go to the ‘Me’ tab (see IMAGE 1.) and login with the following details:

                        Username: squadron@birdi.com.au 

                        Password: flighttest

2. When finished please sync flight logs by pressing the sync button in the top right hand corner (see IMAGE 2.).

3. Please sign out at the completion of the following steps.

STEP 2 - PHOTOGRAPH POINT OF INTEREST. 

  1. Position an identifiable object (POI) in the centre of a clearing with a minimum clearance of 30m in any direction. The object can be your drone case or jumper.  
  2. Take-off to a 1.2m hover.
  3. Climb to 5m above ground level (AGL) and maintain this altitude for the rest of the exercise.
  4. Proceed to Point 1, 10m away from the POI (see IMAGE 4.).
  5. Adjust the camera so that the POI is in the centre of the frame and take a picture.
  6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 for Points 2-4. You should end up with 4 photos of the POI from 4 different angles.
  7. Make a controlled descent to a 1.2m hover.
  8. Land.

STEP 3 - SLOW PAN VIDEO.

  1. Start video recording.
  2. Take-off to a 1.2m hover.
  3. Climb to 30m AGL, see IMAGE 6.
  4. Smoothly pan the camera to the right from Point 1 to Point 2 (as shown in IMAGE 5.) by yawing your drone. You must maintain a stable hover above the same position (+- 30cm) throughout the exercise.
  5. Make a controlled descent to a 1.2m hover.
  6. Land.
  7. Stop video recording.

STEP 4 - MANUAL MAPPING PHOTOGRAPHY.

  1. Position an identifiable object 10m away from you with a minimum clearance of 30m in any direction.
  2. Take-off to a 1.2m hover.
  3. Climb to 10m above ground level (AGL) and maintain this altitude for the rest of the exercise.
  4. Angle the camera towards the ground.
  5. Fly in a straight line as shown in IMAGE 8.
  6. At each of the Points 1 - 4, take a photo. Each photo should overlap the previous one to form a continuous map
  7. Once you have taken a photo at each of Points 1-4, complete a smooth 180 degree turn and fly to Point 5 (see IMAGE 7.).
  8. Fly in a straight line from Point 5 - 8. 
  9. At each of the Points 5-8 , take a photo. Each photo should overlap the previous one to form a continuous map.
  10. Make a controlled descent to a 1.2m hover.
  11. Land.

STEP 5 - UPLOAD CONTENT.
